Ideas for local councils to push social media to the public | Local Government Engagement Online Research – Well, not ‘push’ social media onto the public but make local authorities’ use of it a little more engaging using incentives and good old plain usefulness. I personally think local authorities need to be able to use it effectively because that’s increasingly where the public already are, no pushing necessary. Which is what this other Liz Azyan article about people using tools like Facebook to protest against council decisions they’re unhappy with points out, and asks the question what are councils doing to ensure these virtual voices are heard? Hat tip to Andy Mabbett for these.
